Quiet Life: Petroleum Free Tour

November 15, 2011

If you’re a long time follower of The South Rail, then you should be familiar with Portland, Oregon’s Quiet Life. Back in the Spring of 2010 we gave away 3 copies of their debut EP ‘California Vacation,’ around the same time they were finishing a tour as backing-band for Port O’Brien

Well, what a difference a year makes! Quiet Life now have a debut full-length under their belt (which is available to stream HERE) and are currently on-tour opening for Philadelphia’s Dr. Dog… a tour that is swinging by Chattanooga THIS FRIDAY (11/18) with David Vandervelde via Track 29!

A very cool thing about this tour is that Quiet Life are rolling petroleum free, cruising throughout the states without using a drop of gas — instead fueling with only used vegetable oil! They are currently taking their “grease bus” van that fills-up using “freedom fuel” donated from various businesses along the way.

Check out the mini-documentary “Freedom Fuel: A Petroleum Free Tour” below to see what it takes to get this band to Chattanooga… They’ll definitely need some grease while their in town Friday.  If you’re interested in donating your used vegetable oil, please contact them at quietlifeband@gmail.com … and as you will see below, they’ll be more than grateful for your donation:
