Check out this TSR exclusive track from Chattanooga’s own Folk Killer! The single is called ‘GURLS GURLS GURLS GURLS,’ and is the 2nd track from the band’s upcoming debut self-titled LP. We’ve already taken the record for several test drives and can insure you this sucker does not disappoint.

From key tracks like ‘GURLS GURLS GURLS GURLS’ and ‘George Washington,’ in addition to new takes of 2 Giant Tiger classics… For those from outside of Chatt, the band features Gabe Williams (Fast Boys) and Nick Sterchi (Dead Confederate, Bohannons) who were both from the Chattanooga-based band Giant Tiger.

Catch Folk Killer live this Thursday, February 20, at JJ’s Bohemia with NOBUNNY and The Hussy! Tickets are only $7 (with no service fees) – Get yours HERE before they sell out!

Bonus: Folk Killer’s ‘George Washington’ live at JJ’s Bohemia

And while you’re at it, download the unreleased Giant Tiger ‘Feelin Weird’ EP we featured a couple years back below… Amazing stuff:

Faux Feroucious are currently on tour supporting their brand spanking new 4-track, self-titled EP which dropped earlier this week. Hurray for the Riff Raff: ‘Small Town Heroes’

January 28, 2014 0 comments

While on the topic of our anticipated records for 2014, Hurray for the Riff Raff’s follow-up to 2012’s ‘Look Out Mama’ and major label debut (signing to ATO Records last year), is another one that is near the top of that list! The LP is called Small Town Heroes’ and based on just the few tracks we’ve had the privilege to hear, this sucker is set to deliver!

Check out a couple songs below, including ‘I Know It’s Wrong (But That’s Alright)’ and ‘The Body Electric’… but more importantly, be prepared to be amazing with a live take of ‘St. Roch Blues,’ a video that shows what Alynda and company do best… jaw dropping live shows! The performance features Riff Raff’s Alynda Lee Segarra along with Sam Doores and members of the Deslondes.

Preorder ‘Small Town Heroes’ HERE… and catch Hurray for the Riff Raff along with Shovel & Rope here in Chattanooga March 2nd at Rhythm and Brews. Tickets available HERE.

Those Darlins: ‘Blur the Line’

October 2, 2013 0 comments

Yesterday marked the release date for our pals Those Darlins‘ new LP ‘Blur the Line,’ a record we have been eagerly awaiting for the past year… And a wait that was well worth it if we might add. This is the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Screws Get Loose,’ and the first record from the band NOT to feature founding member Kelley Anderson, who has been replaced by Atlanta’s Adrian Barrera of Barreracudas and Gentleman Jesse & His Men.

Regardless of band history, Those Darlins continue to top themselves with ‘Blur the Line,’ keeping themselves fresh while growing as artists, but at the same time giving a friendly nod to their previous 2 full-lengths, with sprinkles and dashes of the Darlins we have grown to love — Killer up-beat tracks such as ‘Optimist’ and ‘In the Wilderness,’ and equally killer tracks ‘Oh God’ and ‘Too Slow,’ that slows things down at those perfect moments.

Check out a few tracks and live takes from ‘Blur the Line’ below and pick up the new LP HERE… or in-person this Saturday! Those Darlins return to Chattanooga October 5th at JJ’s Bohemia! Tickets are $10 and are available HERE (or at the door night of the show)… See you there!:

Year of the: Houndmouth

May 28, 2013 0 comments

It’s not like everyday you become proud of a band and their success as the band’s music career develops, but damnit, we are so very proud of Houndmouth!

For the past year-and-a-half, we have slowly watched this New Albany, IN (Louisville, KY) 4-piece grow and it has been such an amazing trip so far… a trip that, in reality, is only just the beginning… and starting this June to be exact!

It feels like just yesterday when we helped bring Houndmouth down to Chattanooga for a special event that was hosted by Chattanooga Whiskey at Track 29 (see video here), and ever since, we have noticed nothing hard work and positive events coming from the Houndmouth camp including a record deal and to-kill-for gig opportunities… hell, these kids even have their very own beer!

With all that said, Houndmouth’s debut full-length record “From the Hills Below the City” drops next week (June 4th) via Rough Trade Records, followed by their network television debut June 5th on Conan! — And if that wasn’t enough, their full LP can be streamed via Conan’s Team Coco website HERE!!! How cool is that?

We love it when great talent is embraced, especially so early in a curreer… Stream the new record HERE, scroll down to catch their latest video (and the LP’s official first single) “On The Road,” as well as a few others and catch them HERE this Spring/Summer at a town near you!
