Iron Jayne: ‘Ship’

January 23, 2013 0 comments

We recently stumbled across the track ‘Ship’ from Iron Jayne, a new band who are from a city in the South we have been craving new music from… Atlanta. And at the very start of that single, the attraction was instant! Add captivating music video and call us sold.

With just this one track out there, Iron Jayne has high potential for more great tunes ahead. Especially when the band is fronted by Emily Kempf from The Back Pockets, another band from the peach state capital we have become quite fond of the past year… Check out the video for ‘Ship’ below and if you dig what you hear, download the track FREE courtesy of PureHoney… Also catch the band in Atlanta next month and in Birmingham in March with South Rail favs The Dirty Lungs! Full dates and details below:

February 7 @ 529 Bar / ATL
w/ U.S. Girls, Slim Twig, Del Venicci
9pm / $7 / 21+

February 23 @ The Earl / ATL

March 1 @ Bottletree Cafe / Birmingham, AL

And just for the heck of it, here’s a little taste of The Back Pockets if you didn’t catch them at Collective Clothing last year in Chattanooga:

Through the Sparks: ‘Preacher Pink’

November 29, 2012 0 comments

We have really warmed up to Through the Sparks‘ new EP ‘Alamalibu’ this Fall, featuring 5 well crafted tracks that have been in high rotation in our MP3 stash… From that EP comes the single and official video for ‘Preacher Pink’, which was shot entirely using several iPhones. Pretty impressive effort and a killer track to boot.

Check out the official ‘Preacher Pink’ video below as well as several other key tracks from ‘Alamalibu.’ which is available in MP3 and CD formats now – Pick up/download your copy HERE via Skybucket Records:

Henry Dunkle: ‘River’

October 30, 2012 0 comments

We just started digging into the fine crafted tunes of Henry Dunkle, a Birmingham Alabama songwriter who has caught our attention with his official video for the single ‘River.’ The track and video have been released in preparation of Dunkle’s debut full-length album, which is being recorded in the studio now.

And if this single, along with Dunkle’s soothing yet haunting voice in his previous works are any indication, then we’re in-store of for something great! Dig into those tracks including his 2011 released EP below and check out the new video:

Kim Logan: ‘Black Magic Boy’ (TSR Video Premiere)

October 1, 2012 1 Comment

What a way to kick off a week than with a South Rail exclusive video premiere! ‘Black Magic Boy’ is the first song to be released from Kim Logan‘s upcoming debut full-length album, which is dropping later this month on Halloween.

Logan, who calls her style “Southern Swamp Rock n’ Roll,” comes from Sarasota Florida via Nashville. And straight into the first seconds of the song and you can hear those “swamp” root sounds loud and clear. It definitely has our curiosity for what the rest of the album has in-store… Especially when it features Blackfoot Gypsies‘ Matthew Paige on guitar!

Check out the new video below and for a limited time only, download ‘Black Magic Boy’ for free! Also, keep up with details from the new record via Kim Logan’s Facebook HERE:
