UPDATE: Feb. 10, 2016 (see below)

About a week ago, Third Man Records released the A-side of the label’s most recent addition to their roster, Nashville’s Sun Seeker.

Not only is this a first-taste to one heck of single, but it’s the band’s debut physical release as well! Which is pretty dang impressive in our books – The band had a Bandcamp page which had some additional tracks from a digital EP, but those have since been removed.

Okay now, we’re not ones for helping start rumors, but if this one’s true… WE CAN’T WAIT!!!

While casually checking our Twitter this weekend we noticed a tweet from Nikki Lane that said “Meet the Precious Stones” and featured an Instagram photo shown above (and HERE) that includes (from the left): Ruby Rogers from The Black Belles, Jessica McFarland from Heavy Cream, Nikki Lane, and Makenzie Green from Birdcloud. A pretty impressive line-up if you asked us!

But yeah, why assume that these 4 ladies are forming a band just because of this post and the fact they’re all musicians, right? Especially with Nikki, who has been in the studio this month recording with The Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach at his Nashville Easy Eye Sound Studio… But then, we saw this! Taken from a practice session last night:

Hopefully this new Precious Stones project sees the light of day… because with a line-up that has his kind of talent, we’re in for something HUGE:

Wanda Jackson: ‘Tore Down’

September 13, 2012 0 comments

Queen of Rockabilly Wanda Jackson recently finished the follow-up to her Jack White produced full-length, ‘The Party Ain’t Over’ which will be called ‘Unfinished Business.’ The LP is set to drop October 9th via Sugar Hill Records and is produced by yet another start-studded musician turned producer, Justin Townes Earle!

So what do you do to promote such a highly anticipated album? You compliment the record’s first single, ‘Tore Down’ with a killer video that is slam-packed full of Nashville’s finnest up-and-coming artists, or course! The video features Erin Belle (model and ex-member of The Black Belles) as the lead roll who’s very distressed by her character’s ex-love interest Jonas Stein of Turbo Fruits… oh, and not to mention tons of cameos by people like Nikki Lane, Tristen, Ron Jeremy, comedian Chris Crofton (Alcohol Stuntband) and many many more! Keep an eye out and the pause button ready!

Check it out below and pre-order your copy of ‘Unfinished Business’ HERE:

Willy Moon: ‘Railroad Track’

July 30, 2012 0 comments

Third Man Records just dropped a new video for the single ‘Railroad Track’ that comes from New Zealander (by the way of the UK) Willy Moon. We never heard of Willy until today, but were instantly mesmerized and are hungry for more from this track alone (and not just because of our love for railroad culture)… The video, obviously was shot in Nashville, but also features brief set appearance from local Nashville haunt Santa’s Pub. Killer stuff! Check it out:

Once we started digging into who Willy Moon is, we saw the common ground that both Willy and Jack White have that probably brought these 2 together… The covering of Little Willie John’s song ‘I’m Shakin.’ Check out all the videos below and pre-order the ‘Railroad Track’ 7-inch HERE:

Jack White: Marc Maron’s WTF Interview

June 18, 2012 0 comments

A couple weeks ago, stand-up comedian Marc Maron drove down to Nashville’s Third Man Records to do a one hour, one-on-one podcast interview with Jack White… And that podcast is now available on Marc’s WTF podcast for free download today!

We went into this interview pretty lighthearted, not thinking we’d be this blown away with its content… but no joke, this is the best Jack White interview we’ve ever heard (or read)! Take an hour out of your day and stream/download this sucker, you won’t be sorry:

Jack White: New Video + Single Released via Helium Balloons

April 6, 2012 0 comments

On April 1st, Jack White‘s Third Man Records posted a video that featured the TMR staff releasing blue helium balloons in the air. Each balloon having a flexi-disc 7-inch single of Jack White’s ‘Freedom at 21’ attached … a video that at the time, we took as an April Fools joke [watch here]… The next morning, we discovered that this was no joke, but reality!

Not only that, but we found that the wind that day took the balloons for a ride south-east of Nashville towards Chattanooga. And since that morning of Monday the 2nd… we have been obsessed, using every spare second looking for popped blue balloons on the ground or hanging from a tree. This video can fill you in:

Using TMR’s balloon website, you can see where balloons have been found by using a Google Map that show all the locations along with a photo of the lucky scavengers with their prize. Check the balloon site HERE to learn more… and scroll down to the bottom of the page to see where balloons have been tracked… But, let us warn you, searching for these things start to become an obsession. Especially when you see pictures LIKE THIS!

In other Jack White single news, the official video for ‘Sixteen Saltines’ dropped yesterday…. And WOW… We can’t stop watching. Very dark and the complete opposite to his first single ‘Love Interruption’ from his upcoming LP ‘Blunderbuss.’ Compare and contrast both videos below and pick-up 7-inch of the single HERE:

Oh, and if you’re in Nashville for Record Store Day on April 21st, you can pick up these 2 different versions of the ‘Sixteen Saltines’ single ONLY at Third Man Records’ physical location, which includes the Liquid Filled Record 12″ vinyl version of the single! Check out details to that and all the other TMR Record Store Day releases right here:

Check out the first single, ‘Love Interruption,’ from White’s debut solo album ‘Blunderbuss’ which drops April 24th via Third Man Records!… In the LP’s announcement, Jack has said: “I’ve put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name.
