New Music from: Natural Child

February 3, 2014 0 comments

For the past couple months Nashville’s Natural Child have dropped a few new tracks… and those suckers have been floating around the internets as the band prepares for their 4th full-length LP (and 3rd Burger Records) titled ‘Dancin’ With Wolves.’ Here’s a little taste of what’s going on:

Right off the bat, the new LP’s first track is called ‘Saturday Night Blues.’ Pre-order deets coming very soon, but until then, here’s a first taste of the ‘Dancin’ With Wolves’ LP’s first single… soooooo damn good:

Now to keep you up to speed…

Here’s a listen to the already-sold-out 7-inch split via Suicide Squeeze Records: The single features the song ‘Don’t Wake the Baby’ and a track from the Oregon-based band Guantanamo Baywatch. Even-though the record is already sold out, it is still available via MP3… or the NC single can be streamed below right now:

Shed House Records is a new label out of Lauderdale, MS. Their debut release is actually a live Natural Child album recorded in Birmingham, AL a few months ago. We are still waiting for our physical copy in the mail and supplies are very limited of this release (only a couple hundred pressed), so act VERY fast… here’s a little sample from what to expect… Pick up your copy HERE (again, while supplies last):

Natural Child: Live in Birmingham

And finally: In the anniversary of The Velvet Underground’s classic second album, White Light/White Heat, Universal Music Enterprises and Burger Records have put together a great compilation of Underground covers. Here’s Natty Child’s cover of that title track… dig it:

Details for ‘Dancin’ With Wolves’ will be posted below once available:

GET TO KNOW: Music Band

January 28, 2014 0 comments

Nashville’s Music Band are one of our favorite discoveries from 2013, where we stumbled across their 2012 cassette/mp3 release of ‘Satan’s Grave,’ a 9-track masterpiece that was released via Denim Records. We don’t know what took us so long to obtain this gem, but we are oh so glad we did.

And now, to kick off the new year, at a point where we were craving more from this Nashville 3-piece, the band just digitally released a FREE live album to hold us over until their new studio release. ‘Live at Wembley’ features 13 tracks jam packed with ‘Satan’s Grave’ classics and never before released material… Dig in below and download the full album for free HERE:

And while you’re at it, stream 2012’s ‘Satan’s Grave’ below… And pick it up via cassette HERE or CD/MP3 HERE

GET TO KNOW: Bully

October 2, 2013 0 comments

Bully is the newest band to catch our ear from Nashville, a town that can’t stop cranking out amazing music. Their debut EP just dropped this week via Theory 8 Records and with just 4 tracks, has us craving for more.

Then you add the fact that front-woman Alicia Bognanno not only had her songwriting and vocal/guitar duties on the record, but she also recorded her band’s entire EP herself at Battle Tapes Recording in Nashville! Pretty damn impressive if you ask us!

Dig into Bully’s EP below and if ‘yer lovin’ it, pick up the 7-inch HERE… or if you’re in Nashville October 11th, swing on by The Stone Fox and catch the 4-piece at their record release show along side PUJOL and Study Hall:

Those Darlins: ‘Blur the Line’

October 2, 2013 0 comments

Yesterday marked the release date for our pals Those Darlins‘ new LP ‘Blur the Line,’ a record we have been eagerly awaiting for the past year… And a wait that was well worth it if we might add. This is the follow-up to 2011’s ‘Screws Get Loose,’ and the first record from the band NOT to feature founding member Kelley Anderson, who has been replaced by Atlanta’s Adrian Barrera of Barreracudas and Gentleman Jesse & His Men.

Regardless of band history, Those Darlins continue to top themselves with ‘Blur the Line,’ keeping themselves fresh while growing as artists, but at the same time giving a friendly nod to their previous 2 full-lengths, with sprinkles and dashes of the Darlins we have grown to love — Killer up-beat tracks such as ‘Optimist’ and ‘In the Wilderness,’ and equally killer tracks ‘Oh God’ and ‘Too Slow,’ that slows things down at those perfect moments.

Check out a few tracks and live takes from ‘Blur the Line’ below and pick up the new LP HERE… or in-person this Saturday! Those Darlins return to Chattanooga October 5th at JJ’s Bohemia! Tickets are $10 and are available HERE (or at the door night of the show)… See you there!:

Ranger: The Bard

October 1, 2013 0 comments

It’s been a while since we’ve last heard from Ranger, who just wrapped-up with their debut full-length at La La Land Recording in Louisville, KY — The studio now famous for Houndmouth‘s ‘From The Hills Below The City.’ This will be the New Albany, IN 4-piece’s follow-up to their 2012 released EP, ‘Heritage.’

The LP is called ‘The Bard,’ and as of this week, the band is generously given us a little taste from the new album. Not only letting us sample 2 key tracks, ‘Don’t Be So Green’ and ‘Hope I Help,’ but making them available for free download for a limited time! Thanks fellas!

So sit back and enjoy the tracks to what is sounding like a very promissing record. We have a hunch you’ll be hearing a lot more from Ranger in the near future! ‘The Bard’ drops everywhere November 12th, 2013:

And while you’re at it, stream/download the band’s 2012 released EP, ‘Heritage’ HERE or below:

Nikki Lane: First Taste from “Seein’ Double”

May 30, 2013 0 comments

We have been highly anticipating Nikki Lane‘s sophomore LP, “Seein’ Double,” even before she hit the studio last Fall with producer Dan Auerbach (of The Black Keys) at his Nashville recording studio, Easy Eye Sound Studio. Tracks from the album haven’t been released yet, but thanks to a 4-song live session with Daytrotter that dropped this Memorial Day, we finally get a glimpse of what to expect once “Seein’ Double” hits the shelves.

The session includes the LP’s titled track, the heavy-hearted song “Good Man,” and our personal favorite, “Right Time,” which you can stream for a limited time below. Check out the full Daytrotter session HERE and keep an ear out “Seein’ Double” later this year.

And while we are talking about highly-anticpated Nikki Lane records… When do you think we’ll hear some tunes from Nikki’s side project Precious Stones? Hopefully soon… Click HERE for details.
